Steeda Releases 2010 Sport Edition Mustang
A bit ago, we showed you a video of the new 2010 Steeda Q-Series Ford Mustang testing at the track. Well, the hard-working crew at Steeda Autosports has maintained their drive & determination and just recently took the wraps off the 2010 Steeda Sport Edition Ford Mustang. Equipped with a multitude of grab-n-go handling parts from the Steeda catalog, the Steeda Sport Edition Mustang is ready to take on the track...or the street when necessary. Part upgrades include billet lower control arms, Steeda sport springs, 20-inch chrome wheels, Nitto NT05 high-performance tires, a performance air filter, and some unique Steeda graphics. Did we forget anything? Well, maybe some more bolstering in the power department, as the Steeda Sport Edition package carries what might be considered a steep price tag ($6,995). Coin aside, we think this is one of the sharper Stangs out in the 2010 Mustang aftermarket right now. Keep reading to get the scoop straight from Steeda and be sure to check out the gallery.

Shelby Announces a Barrage of "new" Ford Mustangs
Unless you've been living under a rock for this past week, you're well aware of the onslaught of Ford Mustang packages recently announced by Shelby Automobiles. Several packages to upgrade the first generation S197 (2005 through 2009) Mustangs and announcement of the 2010 Shelby GT500 Super Snake (pictured above) were detailed to the public just a few days ago. All of the new Shelby packages can be applied to the Mustang GT, Shelby GT, and the Shelby GT500 pony cars currently in ownership circulation. Ready for the laundry list of Shelby applications? Brace yourselves; this might be just a bit much. There is almost a half-dozen new Ford Mustang combinations based upon Mustangs people already own. C'mon, Shelby...a twist on the old adage (you can get too much of a good thing) might come to fruition here and end up with a dreaded backfire. Commercialism and marketing of something artistic and unique is a good thing...until it becomes overly common.

Lee Iacocca Crafts his own "45th" Ford Mustang
For all the aftermarket flavors of the Ford Mustang, we feel this one is well-deserved.
The proud papa of the Legendary pony car known as the Ford Mustang, Lee Iacocca, recently
conjured up one to be his very own: the 2009 1/2 Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition Ford
Mustang. Designed by Michael Leone and constructed by the Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters,
this massaged Mustang features smoothed lines on the front and sides, and features a sloped roof that
stretches all the way back to the end of the car. Inside, the car is well treated to what
would otherwise be considered a designer or luxury treatment. Diamond Design stitched leather
seats, a branded "I" leather steering wheel, Iacocca sill plates, and much more make this
Mustang a real one-off gem.

2009 Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup
The 21st Annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup was held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for the 13th time this past weekend (June 18th-21st, 2009). The eye candy packed Ford Mustang gathering included events such as a blackjack run, autocross, and a show 'n shine. StangNet.com was fortunate to attend the Show 'n Shine this year. The temperature hovered in the 60s with the sun shining brightly for perfect viewing conditions and the people of Steamboat Springs treated us to a great time. We were able to talk to many car owners and listen to their unique stories. Seeing the cars is only half of the fun: mingling with other Mustang owners is something that we should all take time to do more often. You never know who you may meet; he or she could be one of your neighbors. For more information about the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, please visit RMMR.org. Enjoy the pictures we brought back for you!

American Muscle 2009 Ford Mustang Giveaway
The folks at AmericanMuscle have teamed up with a (local) Philadelphia radio station to give
away a brand new 2009 Ford Mustang to a lucky winner. There's a catch, however. The "Live in it to Win It"
promotional contest will challenge selected contestants to be the "Survivor" and last longer than the
competition. Sounds simple, right? Four people are going to spend every moment
with three others in the Mustang until but one remains. We aren't too sure about this
one, but we know this: the love of the Ford Mustang is a powerful thing and people will go
to great lengths to be the owner of one. Good luck, guys and gals--you're going to need it!

Reed at Full Speed - a 700hp Twin Turbo Ford Mustang
Somehow, the folks at Reed Speed were able to take a Ford Mustang and squeeze in two
turbochargers, 700hp, and some killer looks. Their "signature edition" 2010 Ford Mustang GT
is set to take the aftermarket by storm via Randall Reed stores and a few destined Ford
dealerships across the nation. The turbocharged pony car dubbed the Reed Speed SSE, is a
collaboration with Artisan Performance and included a completely revamped power plant,
suspension modifications, and a custom body kit.

More than meets the eye - Ford Mustang glass roof
It doesn't come as a shock to announce that the 2010 Ford Mustang comes with a glass roof,
offering up sun soakers the chance to take it all in while cruising in their favorite
Legendary pony car. Aside from shielding passengers and the interior from about 90% of the
(harmful) ultra-violet rays inbound, the glass does much more. It also insulates the cabin while
providing a great panoramic view, further reducing the amount of energy required by the air
conditioning system to keep the car comfortable. Additionally, the glass roof on the Ford
Mustang insulates the cabin from a substantial amount of noise pollution, vibration, and harshness.
This revolutionary offering from Ford for the Mustang is available for both the V6 and GT
models and holds a sticker price of $1,995. Keep reading to get the official scoop in the
Press Release from Ford.

Slip of the Tongue? 400hp Ford Mustang
A recent CNBC video of Bill Ford on the Survival of US Automakers might have let a few felines out of the proverbial sack regarding the future of the Ford Mustang.
Bill Ford seems to hint at the great potential for a 400 horsepower Ford Mustang
to be produced for all to enjoy. Not sure how or when it's going to be done,
but check out the video and hear it for yourself. To paraphrase, he says we'll soon
be able to get a 400hp Ford Mustang and he hints at "another" car later this summer in the same sentence. Maybe this will come sooner than we think? Who knows for sure?! Either way, this certainly piqued our interests and made us do a double-take on what seemed to be just another dialogue on the ailing automotive industry.

Ford Mustang to join the NASCAR scene
We might best fit the description of "moderate" NASCAR fans, as we've never been all that excited to see Fusions, Chargers, and Camrys circling the track for hundreds of miles these past few years. That's about to change. The folks over at FOX Sports recently reported that Ford has plans to introduce the Ford Mustang into the Nationwide Racing Series next year. The news comes now, a bit on the early side, because the new templates and designs are required to be submitted for approval on June 26th and the 2010 NASCAR competition is supposedly going to be very close to stock in the visual cues department...at least much closer than the aero-styled cars we've been accustomed to for almost ten years. Dodge has stated they are going to have the Challenger designed and slated for the series as well. General (Government) Motors? They passed on producing a Camaro shell to race underneath and will stick with their current Impala setup, while Toyota will also follow the stale suit and stick with their Camry paneling.

1969 Mustang Drag Car - Sam's Back!
- 1969 Mustang Drag Car - Sam's Back!
A Terror On The Northeast Match-Racing Circuit, Sam Auxier Jr.'s Ultra Stock '69 Mustang Has Been Restored To Its Red, White, And Blue GloryIn 1969, you could hardly pick up a drag-racing magazine without spotting a picture of Sam Auxier Jr.'s '69 Mustang. Based in Maryland, Sam and his red, white, and blue fastback match-raced all over the northeast, taking on big names in drag racing like Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Ronnie Sox, and Al Joniec. Also a competitor in the UDRA's Ultra Stock class, where it earned Cars magazine's title as "Ultimate Ultra Stocker," Sam's Mustang was a pre-cursor to what eventually became Pro Stock. - 1971 Mustang Mach 1 - Savoring The Journey
Johnnie And Rachel Garner Have Been Criss-Crossing The Continent In Their '71 Mach 1 For Nearly Four DecadesThere's nothing like consistency, that ever constant pattern of sunrise and sunset, changing of the seasons, getting out of school for the summer, tax time, prime time into summer reruns, and everything else that comes and goes with fluid precision. If you lived on Johnnie and Rachel Garner's block in Rock Hill, South Carolina, you'd notice the consistency of their life cycle: Garage door up, Mach 1 out, garage door down, Mach 1 gone; Mach 1 back, garage door up, Mach 1 in, garage door down. Packing and unpacking the Mach 1. Washing, waxing, and detailing. Showing and most certainly winning. Photo Gallery: 1971 Mustang Mach 1 - Mustang Monthly Magazine
